Hegan framed for killing email

CHAPTER 1

Last night was a gin-soaked blur.

Vaguely remember throwing punches. Running from the cops. Blacking out in an alley.

Somehow I woke up in bed ... with a smoking gun in my hand.

On the floor, in a pool of blood --

I scream and stumble backwards into the bathroom.

But the shower is on. Someone cleaning off, hiding the evidence. I reach out ... pull back the curtain, and see ...

She's shorter, tauter, kennier. She smiles. Beckons me to join her. I gulp. Put down the gun and step into her warm embrace.
